Robert A. Ersek, MD, FACS

Dr. Ersek is an internationally acclaimed surgeon. Recognized by his profession, he has published more than 100 articles and delivered lectures around the world. Dr. Ersek's publications range from reconstructive surgical methods to skin grafting and technical reports on the suction-assisted lipectomy process. Dr. Ersek has developed and invented unique procedures for many surgical techniques. He is dedicated to the highest standards in the medical profession. He is a highly sought after speaker and educator on plastic surgery.

Among his many activities, Dr. Ersek is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at South Robert west Texas State University and an Instructor at the University of Texas. Martin Schaeferle III, MD

Martin Schaeferle III, MD did his undergraduate work at the University of Iowa. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa his junior year and subsequently graduated "with Honors." Following in the footsteps of his father and uncle, he attended the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He was elected into Phi Alpha Mu medical scholastic fraternity and received his MD degree in 1968.

After his internship in Portland, Oregon, he served as a General Medical Officer in the US Navy, including service in South Korea and Viet Nam. He received the Naval Achievement Medal for his work with Korean civilians.

Following an honorable discharge from the Navy, he completed his education in general surgery at the University of Utah and became certified by the American Board of Surgery. He then completed training in plastic surgery at the University of Kansas and became certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Schaeferle has been in an active plastic surgery practice in Tacoma, Washington, for the last 18 years. He is trained in all aspects of cosmetic surgery including liposuction, body contouring, and laser surgery. In addition to cosmetic surgery, he has extensive experience in acute and reconstructive burn surgery, cleft lip and palate surgery, and traumatic reconstruction. He has been a member of the Washington State Maxillofacial Review Board for 18 years and part-time director of the Firefighters Burn Center in Tacoma, WA for the last 10 years. He has participated in volunteer surgical services through Heal the Children foundation.

Dr. Schaeferle is an active member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Lipoplasty Society, the American Burn Association, and the American Cleft Palate Association, as well as belonging to multiple national and regional medical societies.
